DIT part 2nd (1st Term Exam 2014)

Time Allowed: 3 Hours Max Marks=100

Note : attempt any five question by selecting one question form each section . All question carry equal marks.

Q1. Write in detail Photoshop function and also describe navigation tools?

Answer:
Adobe Photoshop is a graphics-editing program. Photoshop is used for creating and editing images for printing and for web development. Photoshop is equipped with high-quality function and with help of these function we can enhance our images . Following are the some Photoshop functions. Selection tools :
Photoshop provide verity of tools for selection. with the helps of these tools we can select any object or part of any object and then we can edit it.for example marquee tool, magic wend tool lasso tools.

Photo shop provide cropping tools. This tool is used for reducing the image to a certain area.
Slice Tool:
Used to slice an image into different sections; generally used for the creation of images for a web page design
Healing Brush Tool:
with the help of Healing Brush tool allows you to fix image imperfections such as scratches, blemishes, etc. By sampling the surrounding area or using a predefined pattern you can blend the imperfections into the rest of the image.
Brush Tool: Brush tools provide the function that we draw lines on image, paint the image with different shape.
Clone Stamp: Used to clone or copy one area of an image to another object. First we select the source by holding Alt and click an area of the image to copy, then click on a different area to copy it there. History Brush Tool:
The history brush uses a previous state or snapshot of an image. The tool makes a copy of the image as it was in a previous state, then uses the content of this copy to paint with.
Eraser Tool:
This tool is used to erase certain areas of an image. Click on the eraser icon and then click on an area on the canvas and while holding the mouse button down, start dragging the cursor around the canvas the aria under the eraser will be deleted.
Blur Tool : The Blur Tool unfocused image areas. Dodge Tool:
The Dodge tool lighten the areas of the image. The more you paint over an area with the Dodge tool, the lighter it becomes.
Type Tool:
Photoshop also provide function that we can write on our image for this purpose we can use type tool.
Navigation Tools
Navigation in Photoshop is a very import aspect of retouching. It's important that we're able to quickly zoom in/out, move the canvas or compare the retouched part of an image with the original. The Zoom Tools and Hand tools are both navigation tools.
Zoom Tool:
Zooming in on one particular area in an image is easy. Select the Zoom Tool icon in the Tool Bar and use the mouse to select the area that you want to magnify and release the mouse button.
Navigation is also don form navigator palette. And also with short cut keys through keyboard CTRL+ (+) for Zoom out and CTRL + (-) key for Zoom IN. if we have a wheel mouse; rolling the wheel away from us allows us to zoom out, rolling the wheel towards us allows us to zoom in. Note: sometimes you need to hold down the Alt key when you use the scroll wheel.
Hand Tool:
If your image doesn't fit in your document window, then you have to select the Hand Tool in the toolbar and use your mouse to move your image by clicking and dragging it inside your document window.For this purpose select The hand tool and drag the image with the help of mouse.You can also use wheel mouse by rolling the wheel up down and CTRL + rolling wheel Left and Right.

Q2. Explain the color in Photoshop?

Answer:
In photo shop you can work with different color mode. It's simply states the color value method you are using to work with your images from RGB, CMYK, and grey scale and alike.
Selecting Color Mode:
GO to Image Menu and Select Mode and then select the color mode.
RGB Color:
RGB stands for Red, Green, and Blue. These are the color displayed by your computer, and you?re TV. It is the combination of these three colors that provide you all the colors you see while watching movies online or a movie on your TV.
CMYK Color:
CMYK stands for the four colors of in used by the printers. They are cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. The ?K?, because "B" was already spoken for in the RGB color space. CMYK is what designers used to sends documents to professional printer?s from magazine, poster, and alike. It is the CMYK model that give the term four color printing its meaning.
Grey Color:
Grey scale colors display 256 values of grey. Grey scale, is great to use when going for that classic vintage look or mixing part of color image with grey for emphasis on a part of an image.

Q3. What are the pattern how we create new pattern? Also write procedure to create custom pattern?

Answer:
in photos hope you can create pattern in two way.
First : create pattern form image
Open an image from which you want to create a pattern.
Use the Rectangle Marquee tool on any open image to select an area to use as a pattern. Select very small aria. Choose

 Edit > Define Pattern.

Enter a name for the pattern in the Pattern Name dialog box.
2nd way is create new pattern:
Create new project with size of 600 x 300 pixels and 72 dpi and fill it with any color.
Select the Custom Shape Tool, go to Shape. Select any shape form which you want to create pattern.Set your pattern shape and then select this with marquee tool.
Now create new document and past this and then fill with some color.
Now Go to Edit > Define Pattern

to save this image as pattern, give pattern a name.
Done

Q4. Write the procedure to add the text to an object?

Answer:
we can add the text to our object with the help of Type tool. Type tool provide Horizontal Type tool, Vertical type tool, Horizontal Type Mask and Vertical Type Mask.
The Horizontal Type Tool creates and edits vector-based text in a separate layer.
The Vertical Type Tool creates and edits vector-based text in a separate layer.
The Horizontal Type Mask Tool creates type-shaped selections.
The Vertical Type Mask Tool creates type-shaped selections.
Procedure of adding the text :
1. Select the Type tools (For Example Horizontal Type Tool).
2. On the Options bar, set the font options: family (style), size, color and anti-aliasing method.
3. Click on your image and type.? While you are typing, most of the other Photoshop functions are not available.
4.When finished, click on any tool in the Toolbox or on a layer in the Layers palette to apply the typing and return to the standard editing mode.

Q5. Describe spray object in detail?

Answer:
in corelDRAW the artistic media tool sprayer enables you that you can spray different objects onto any open or closed path and create amazing technical and creative effects. for this purpose following step will be taken:
#Open new document.
#Click click the Artistic Media Tool located in the Toolbox grouped.
#From the Property Bar click on the sprayer object icon.
#Now select the size of object
#Now select the stroke type form sprayer stroke list.
#Now simple make a open stroke with sprayer object on the page or draw a line and make close stroke.

Q6. Define templates ? Explain the role of templates in CorelDraw?

Answer:
Templates are pre-designed page to start your work. Templates ussualy contains some pictures and text boxes, user can replaced every thing in templates very easily with your own choice. CorelDraw also provide verity of templates with these templates you can start your work . This templates give batter idea of working on Web in CorelDraw.
A website template is a pre-designed webpage or collection of WebPages. The user can use these pages make some changes in images contents according to there requirements. Website templates allow anyone to setup a website without having professional experience of web developing. In CorelDraw 10 and Higher version you can also create web templates.

Q7. Explain Find and Replace with examples?

Find Replace command in helps you locate and change text inside a text chain. Find and Replace has an English and Urdu text toggle. In English mode you can find English text while in Urdu mode Urdu text can be entered in the Find Text field. You can further restrict the search by specifying whether INPAGE should match case and/or complete words.
Match Case: If you want to match occurrence of the specified text in different case then check Match Case option. Match Word: If you do not want to match occurrence of the specified text within a word then check Match Whole word option.
Find Next: Click on Find Next button to start the search. If the text is found then the found text would be selected other wise the system will beep.
Cancel: Find dialog stays on top of the text until you press Cancel.
Replace. Allows you to search and replace selected text chain for Text or Text Type.
Find Text: Enter the text to be searched for in the Find Text edit control.

Q8. Explain the paragraph properties / preferences in detail ?

Paragraph option is used to specify paragraph-formatting attributes for selected text. Click on Format menu and select the Paragraph option. Paragraph dialog box is displayed with following items:-
Alignment: Choose Left, Centered, Right, Justified and Forced Justify Alignment styles for selected paragraphs. Indents: the indent set the space beginning of the line and End of line for all lines in the selected paragraphs.
Line Spacing:
Set the height of each line in the selected paragraph and the gap between lines of the selected paragraphs. Breaks:
Break takes the current paragraph to the beginning of the next page. if we select Column Break it inserts a column break for the current paragraph. This takes the current paragraph to the beginning of the next column.
Keep Together: This option disallows splitting of selected paragraphs across columns or frames.
Keep With Next. This option disallow next paragraph to be in different frame of column.
Window: Enter number of lines at top of paragraph after which the selected paragraphs can break across columns and frames
Orphan: Select number of lines at end of paragraph where the paragraph is not allowed to break.
Paragraph Spacing: This option sets the space before the paragraph and after the paragraph.
Character Alignment: we can also align the Latin/Arabic text either on the baseline or center aligns.
