Change Image size, resolution, and mode In Adobe Photoshop

In this tutorial i am going to show how we set the Image size and its resolution and modw.

Ok lets begging with opening a New File by clicking on file menu and select New option.

In next appearing dialog box you have some option.

First option is Name field in which you can enter the name of the image you can also leave this and when you save your file in the end then you can specify the name of the file.

The next section deals with the size of the image. There are two choice

Select any pre define size for example 2 x 3 or 4 x 7 or legal page size.

You can manually enter values for the width and height, choosing from a selection of different units, including pixels, millimeters, and inches.

Next is Resolution. The images you work with in Photoshop are composed of pixels, or "dots," and the resolution determines how many of these dots will be assigned per inch of the image. Now the question is which resolution is best for your image.

Remember the higher the resolution means that more clear and more detailed the image will be. But thsi type of image take more space. It is most important thing is to choose the resolution which is best suited for your purpose. If you are going to enlarge your image then set high resolution image. Images intended to be displayed on computer screens are generally set at 72 d.p.i. Images intended for printing should be at least 300 d.p.i. For photo-quality images, you may want to go up to 600 d.p.i.

Next option is Color Mode og The image . For example RGB color Mode or Grayscale mode.

Bitmap: Bitmap images are only in black and white.

Grayscale: Grayscale images range from black to white with many shades of gray in between.If you are going to print your document black and white then must select this mode.

RGB Color: RGB is short from Red Green and Blue. These mode select when images are used in computer viewing. or for general painting.

CMYK Color : CMK is short form cyan magenta yellow black. This is four color system. This color mode is used by professional printing companies.

Lab Color : This is a mode in which the colors are based on the three factors of luminosity, green-red, and blue-yellow.
