Change The Hair Color With Fill Layer In Photoshop

In this tutorial we change the color of hair Using a Fill Adjustment Layer .
In Photoshop there are different modes of Fill Layer and we can use any of this.

1.  The first is Solid Color

2.  The second is Gradient, and

3.  The third is Pattern.

I prefer The Solid Color mode. This fill layer or a selection with a solid color.

 Now start with selection The hair and then fill with any color which you want.

We are going to use this image :

First Step is selection . there are many tools which help to select the hair. The selection should be as accurate as possible:

in this tutorials we chose the selection brush. i think this one the best tools for selection for these type of object like hair.

First you select the " Edit in quick Mask Mode " and then select the brush and select the hair. Here is how the mask looked after the selection (just the hair portion).

Now select the standard mode and then click on select menu and click on inverse. (we chose select inverse).

Now click on Layer Menu select New Fill Layer and select Solid Color Layer.

Select The Color which you want to fill and then click on Ok button.

One change has to be made in this dialogue and that is to set the blend Mode: to Soft Light.

 
Now all you do is move select different colors in color palette until you find one you like. If you click OK, take a look and decide you don't like it then double click the Fill Layer and the color palette will come up again.

 You can also use the Gradient and Pattern layer in place of solid color layer .
